The mission of this office is to encourage all Catholics to join in the Church's mission to bring Christ to all nations (ad gentes) and through witness to the Gospel to bring all nations together as one People of God.

• We encourage membership and participation in the Pontifical Mission Societies, missions trips and events organized on the diocesan and parish levels, and we serve as a liaison for Lay Volunteers in Mission.
• "Missions" and "Evangelization" are inseparable. Indeed, the specific purpose of missionary activity is evangelization.
• Mission catechesis is an aspect of faith formation that cannot be overlooked. We work to connect the people of the Diocese of Youngstown with the larger world and the Universal Church.
• These connections are made through prayer, personal sacrifice, financial offerings, education / awareness and immersion experiences. Staff in the Office are available to assist you in making this connection along with your family, your parish, and your school. Remember - If you're baptized, you are a missionary!
